Financial Services Demand Side Survey 2020
This Report summarises the findings of the second Financial Services Demand Side Survey in Fiji. The Survey, undertaken across the Central, Northern, Western and Eastern Divisions, is a needs assessment study of financial products and services, including digital and green products. The aim is to monitor the progress made in the National Financial Inclusion Strategic Plan 2016-2020 and chart the way forward for the forthcoming financial inclusion strategy.
The research design, data collection approach, and analysis plan for reporting were finalised in consultation with the UNCDF. The survey was jointly supported by AFI and UNCDF.
Demand-side Financial Services Data
The Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF) is committed to the financial inclusion of all Fijians, especially the most vulnerable members in our society. In driving the national financial inclusion agenda, the RBF recognises the importance of obtaining relevant data to not only measure progress but also identify critical areas to direct our efforts. To complement the supply-side data provided by financial service providers, the RBF undertakes a survey which engages the end-users of financial services in a bid to understand the challenges faced in access and use.
