Media Note – Fiji Innovation Hub Celebrates a Year of Impact at Its Inaugural Fintech Showcase 2026

The Fiji Innovation Hub (FIH) hosted its Inaugural Fintech Showcase at the Reserve Bank of Fiji on 14 August 2026 marking the successful completion of its pilot year. The event brought together over 100 innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, government representatives, industry experts and ecosystem partners to celebrate the achievements of the Hub’s first Activator Programme cohort and showcase innovative solutions developed over the past year.
Since its launch in July 2025, the Hub has become a catalyst for innovation and entrepreneurship, providing aspiring founders and startups with access to mentorship, training, networking opportunities and capability building programmes. The Showcase provided participants with a platform to present their ideas, demonstrate business growth and engage with potential investors and partners.
Opening the event, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Industries, Commerce, Business Development and Public Enterprises, Honourable Manoa Kamikamica, highlighted the importance of innovation in driving Fiji’s future economic development. “This is a strategic and intentional investment by the Government, the Reserve Bank and our partners to build the foundations of Fiji’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. On 13 August, we opened a physical space. Today, we are showcasing the community that will bring that space to life.”
The programme featured panel discussions and interactive Talanoa sessions where innovators, entrepreneurs and ecosystem partners shared experiences and explored opportunities within Fiji’s growing innovation ecosystem. Discussions covered entrepreneurship support, fintech developments, financial inclusion, artificial intelligence, cooperative innovation and future perspectives for Fiji’s economy.
A special highlight was the FIH Awards, which recognized individuals, startups, founders and mentors making outstanding contributions to innovation and entrepreneurship in Fiji:

- Innovation for Good: Victorious People Co-operative
- Innovation of the Year: Pay Loop
- Ecosystem Champion of the Year: Anmarie Gukisuva
- People’s Choice Award – Pitch of the Day: Victorious People Co-operative
The event also featured startup pitches from participants of the Activator Programme and Startup World Cup (SWC), demonstrating how innovative ideas can be transformed into viable business solutions through mentorship, capacity building and ecosystem support. The pitches created valuable opportunities for collaboration, investment and market access.
The Showcase highlighted the growing strength of Fiji’s innovation ecosystem and the collective commitment of partners supporting its development. These include the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), United Nations Development Programme Pacific Digital Economy Programme (UNDP-PDEP) which is sponsored by the European Union, the Government of Australia and the Government of New Zealand, the Ministry of Industries, Commerce, Business Development and Public Enterprises, Mastercard, HFC Bank, Fiji Airways and implementation partner Creative HQ. The Fiji Innovation Hub also welcomed the Ministry of Policing and Communications and the Fiji Development Bank as new sponsors for its second year.
Building on its successful inaugural year, the Fiji Innovation Hub will continue to support founders and startups through accelerator programmes, mentorship, strategic partnerships and ecosystem-building initiatives aimed at transforming innovative ideas into sustainable businesses that contribute to Fiji’s economic growth and resilience.
