The Reserve Bank is Fiji’s central bank. Our objectives as are to protect the value of currency in the interest of balanced and sustainable economic growth, formulate monetary policy, promote price stability and issue currency.
We assist Government and statutory bodies in borrowing funds from the public through the issue of debt securities including bonds, treasury bills and promissory notes.
The RBF administers a number of specialised financing and funding-support facilities such as the Import Substitution and Export Finance Facility, the Disaster Rehabilitation and Containment Facility, the Housing Facility and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Credit Guarantee Scheme.
We also manage and maintain foreign reserves in order to ensure that they are adequate where needed and that returns on holding these currencies are maximised.

RBF provides essential macroeconomic data to policy makers, a broad range of domestic and international stakeholders, including investors, rating agencies and the public enabling easy access to information that RBF has identified as critical for monitoring economic conditions and policies.
Making this information simultaneously available to all users will bring greater data transparency.
RBF Working Papers disseminates economic research relevant to the various tasks and functions of RBF and provides a conceptual and empirical basis for policy-making.
These papers are addressed to academics, policy makers, regulators, multilateral organisations, business leaders, civil society.
Our current working papers currently collaborate on research within the region and to explore vital links between research and policy relating to central banking issues, including financial and private sectors and economic growth and development.
