Press Release No 25 – National Financial Inclusion Taskforce Launches First Facilitator’s Resource for Financial and Digital Literacy Training

Permanent Secretary for Women, Children and Social Protection, Mrs Eseta Nadakuitavuki and Reserve Bank of Fiji Governor, Ariff Ali, along with members of the National Financial Inclusion Taskforce at the launch of the Facilitator’s Resource for Financial and Digital Literacy
In a landmark achievement, the National Financial Inclusion Taskforce (NFIT) officially launched the Facilitator’s Resource for Financial and Digital Literacy Training (“Resource”) in English and iTaukei at its meeting on 24 November 2025.
The dual-language Resource consolidates collective expertise into a comprehensive guide aimed at enhancing the capacity of facilitators to undertake effective, consistent and high-quality delivery of financial and digital literacy trainings tailored to diverse communities across Fiji.
The development of this Resource was a two-year initiative led by the Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF) in close collaboration with the Consumer Protection and Financial Capability Working Group (CPFCWG). This achievement represents a key deliverable under Pillar II of Fiji’s National Financial Inclusion Strategy 2022–2030 (NFIS), which focuses on safeguarding consumer rights and advancing financial literacy to enable informed decision-making across key segments of society.
RBF Governor and chair of the NFIT, Ariff Ali stated “This initiative is timely given the growing demand for financial and digital literacy training among underserved communities, particularly in rural and maritime areas. Under the NFIS our goal is to scale up programs that specifically target women, youth, micro, small and medium enterprises as well as persons with disabilities.”
Governor Ali expressed his appreciation to the CPFCWG and the various partners for their contribution, adding that the content and relevance of the Resource have been greatly enriched through the integration of reference materials and best practices drawn from existing programs led by Government, private sector and multilateral organisations. Key contributors included the ANZ Bank, Fiji National Provident Fund, the United Nations Capital Development Fund, iTaukei Affairs Board, HFC Bank and The Asia Foundation.
For the next phase, efforts will focus on strengthening the capacity of facilitators across diverse organisations, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to effectively utilise the Resource.
